📝 SMT Feeder Maintenance Management Guideline
I. Objectives
To improve the SMT production line's efficiency, decrease the rejection rate, and define the feeder users' and maintenance personnel's roles for effective feeder management.
II. Scope
Applicable to all Feeders in our company's SMT workshop.
III. Responsibilities
3.1 Manufacturing oversees daily feeder use and maintenance;
3.2 Engineering maintains the Feeder and manages relevant documents;
3.3 Maintenance personnel handle feeder malfunctions and scheduled maintenance.
IV. Feeder Management and Maintenance:
4.1 SMT operators can only use feeders from their assigned line;
4.2 Operators are responsible for cleaning their line's feeders after each production change;
4.3 Daily inspections by users check for equipment and material compliance;
4.4 Operators must report feeder failures to the technical department.

V. Feeder Overhaul and Maintenance
5.1 Inspect the feed gear: check for any broken teeth and ensure it rotates smoothly without obstruction. Replace if needed.
5.2 Assess the pressure cover: make sure there's no deformation and it moves smoothly without blockage. Replace if necessary.
5.3 Examine the screws and positioning pins: ensure they're not loose and aren't deformed. Replace if required.
5.4 Evaluate the feed cylinder: verify the fixing screws are secure and the pushing process is smooth. Replace if needed.
5.5 Inspect each connecting moving part: ensure they move smoothly without wear or looseness. Replace if necessary.
5.6 Review the spring: confirm there's no deformation or aging. Replace if required.
5.7 Perform a visual check: ensure there's no dirt or deformation. Clean and maintain if necessary.
5.8 Adjust the picker's center position:
5.9 Attach the Feeder correction tool to the Feeder corrector and adjust the correction center point.
5.10 Secure the Feeder needing correction to the corrector and adjust the center position until it's in the OK position.
5.11 Handle production line feeder damage for repair.
5.12 Replace any abnormal feeder found during the production line use.
5.13 The line technician decides if the feeder is OK.
5.14 If it's deemed OK, the line technician investigates and improves the abnormal cause. If labelled as NG, the following technician applies wrinkle glue on the feeder, marks the bad phenomenon, and the following operator sends the replaced feeder to the repair area and logs the feeder number, failure phenomenon, and repair date in the repair record book.
5.15 After feeder maintenance personnel complete the repair, they fill in the repair process, repair date, repair status, repairer, and other details in the repair record book.

VI. Precautions
6.1 When the Feeder is not in use, it should not be stacked to prevent the Feeder from being deformed by pressure, which affects its accuracy.
6.2 Feeder maintenance technicians must be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the Feeder in use on the production line to ensure its normal use.

VII. Support Records/Tables
7.1 After maintenance, the SMTFeeder technician records results on the "SMTFeeder Correction History Table", clearly marking the project.
7.2 Post-correction, a quarterly color label is attached to the Feeder, indicating correction OK, with the date filled in.
Note: Q1: Jan-Mar, Q2: Apr-Jun, Q3: Jul-Sep, Q4: Oct-Dec
7.3 Feeder Calibrator Maintenance:
7.4 Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Annual Inspections:
Refer to the work guide for operation.
7.5 Feeder Correction History
7.6 Feeder Maintenance Record
7.7 Equipment/Tool Maintenance Record
